I was hoping to see Prust make it, and he ALMOST did - but that's okay. Now their AHL team has a good fighter while the Flames still have Godard as their heavyweight. It all works out.

With 24 players on the Flames' roster, Calgary still has one more cut to make, but it will likely be a goaltender since they still have 3 in camp. That means that all of their fighters (Peters, Godard, Smith, Regehr, etc.) are all safe and sound.

Calgary will have a very tough team this year.

I thought Prust was still recovering from an injury.

I dont think they can send Godard down anyway. I believe he's on a one way contract, or am I wrong?

He could still be sent down, but would have to clear waivers. If for some reason another team claimed him, would you really wanna be responsible for 1/2 of Godard's salary? I have a feeling that even though he COULD be sent down, he won't be.

I think Prust could be one of the first called up if needed, hope to see him in a Flames uniform again this season.

Yeah, he's on a one-way contract. Look for him to stay up with the Flames all season. Prust I don't think has seen a lick of ice time at camp, let alone pre-season. When he's recovered from his off-season surgery, look for him to spend a long amount of time rehabilitating in the minors.

The recent signing of Mark Smith, plus Godard's contract, suggests to me we won't see Prust at all this season - unless injuries hit the team hard or some players fold under Keenan.
