I'll remember him for his fights with Domi as a rook.

Perfectly put. That's why I'll remember EG as one of the best enforcers in the business. When he dropped the gloves there was always the possibility that you were going to see a little bit of magic. He had that gift with his fists, like you say, just like Crosby or Malkin has it with their play-making and goal scoring, the ability to deliver when it's needed... I don't think anyone's mentioned the John Erskine fight when Godard was with Calgary yet. That scrap stopped Erskine from fighting for a long time. EG had one hell of a right hand!

Best of luck to Godard. Always enjoyed watching him tussle.

Eric Godard was more than just another enforcer , he was an inspiration to all his team-mates , he had "EPILEPSY" but still played his role to the best of his ability .

Good luck in the future Eric ..

Dang! He was one of my faves, no matter what team he played for.

Happy retirement and thanks for putting your health on the line every game. Glad you are leaving with your health, and all your teeth. You will be missed!

One of the best of the "newer age" or the last decade and probably my favorite. Really exciting, open, two handed fighter with pop. I wish him only the best.

Real good fighter and an entertaining one at that,, one of the best enforcers, and just an all round good guy even though he played for the Pens...

Sorry to see him go, one of my favs. Maybe Homer can talk him out of retirement for next season, I'd like to see him on the Flyers for three years.
