This didn't look like an elbow, but it definitely was a forearm shiver which caught Doan in the face. I don't necessarily think that was Wisniewski's intention, but it is what happened. But, since Doan wasn't injured, even if he was temporarily shaken up, and the two of them settled it the way things should be settled in the sport, I don't really see the need for the league to give him 2 games. A fine would have been plenty in my opinion given that it was a headshot. However, I have seen Campbell make much worse rulings...

I don't think this is worthy of a suspension. A fine at the most, especially since Shane Doan himself said it all ended when Wiz obliged his fight invitation.

Unnecessary suspension IMO.

That isn't a Philadelphia Flyer of course.

I'm a Coyotes fan and I thought it was a clean hit too. I wish there was some better camera angle which may show otherwise. Either way, I don't think a suspension was warranted. Then again I typically disagree with most suspensions handed out during the course of a season.

Just a joke this league is, Richards decapitates Booth, Ovy is constantly nailing guys with worse hits......nothing but I guess you can't hit anyone from the NHL's official team

whats worse Wisniewski fought TWO guyswhereas Richards and Ovy didnt fight ONE

Wiz got boned

Wiz and Doan handled this on the ice, the hit was unfortunate but I don't think it was intentional. NHL trying to "protect the players" should talk to the players involved before doing so BS like this.

an open ice hit, intentially targeting the head maybe,

the thing that is in question is that elbow/forearm, everyone already forementioned.

suspension I don't think so.... the fight cleared it up just fine. That's what fighting is for is these cases. The NHL should understand that.

nothing wrong with the hit. he got his shoulder into doan, and doan looked to hit the back is his head on the ice. Wiz looked to keep his shoulder down, and didn't leave his feet or anything, so I can't understand why this is a suspension. Goofy.

Not suprised that it is a suspension, It looked like a kind of weird hit to me. Shouldn't have been a suspension in my book, but this just makes Doan impress me even more because of what he said. That's how the NHL should be.

It probably didn't help Wisniewski's chances that Doan is one of the league's golden boys, one of those off-ice angels the league has a history of loving so much.

I was also surprised at the suspension, and Doan's right, it was taken care of on the ice. But all the same, this wasn't exactly a clean hit - I don't think shoving your forearm in another players face has ever been considered clean. But nor do I believe that was Wisniewski's intention - the whole play looked a little awkward.

I don't think the play was clean - but I don't think a suspension was necessary either. Kind of an over-reaction by the league, probably a fallout from all the headshots we've seen so early into the season already.

I'm expecting more such suspensions in the days and weeks to come to help steer players away from hits to the head. Just the way it is - accept it and move on.

The suspension doesnt bother me much as it bothers me the double standards that the league has. If this was Phaneuf, this hit would have been the best hit of the week and he would have been praised on how good of a hitter he is.

If you loook on some of the Phaneuf hits yuo will see that he keeps on doing the same thing, forearm on the head
