Ducks Sign Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond to One-Year Contract

ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed left wing Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond to a one-year contract through the 2012-13 NHL season. Per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Letourneau-Leblond, 27 (6/4/85), appeared in three games for the Calgary Flames in 2011-12, recording a +1 rating with 10 penalty minutes (PIM). He spent the remainder of the season with Abbotsford (AHL), scoring 1-5=6 points with a +4 rating and a team-leading 167 PIM in 50 games. He also appeared in five Calder Cup Playoff games for Abbotsford, going scoreless with 18 PIM.

Selected by New Jersey in the seventh round (216th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Letourneau-Leblond has played four NHL seasons with New Jersey (2008-11) and Calgary (2011-12). In 40 career NHL games, the 6-2, 220-pound winger has scored 0-3=3 points with 101 PIM. He has also appeared in 242 career AHL contests with Albany (2005-06, 2010-11), Lowell (2007-10) and Abbotsford (2011-12), earning 18-21=39 points with 1,013 PIM.

I need a new pair of underpants.

Fight Staubitz in camp for a spot on the big squad!

Even if he gets sent down, Leblond-Rosehill is a pretty nice 1-2 punch so to speak.

Sweet! Hopefully, PL3 gets a real shot with the Ducks!

Wow...PL3 lives! Wish him the best!

I don't know if he'll ever play in the now-depleted West, but this is good news.

Granted, you might see a little. Boudreau didn't fight as a player but he has given some heavyweights a few games. Here's hoping he gets some time in the show! Relatively cheap deal too, 550k.

Granted, he was put on waivers after being signed :( Good news is there are no re-entry waivers to speak of anymore.

had to be now or else more of a chance he gets picked up after playing some games (if he plays well) because fewer will go thru as season goes on.

True, I wonder if he'll be up and down since Norfolk already has Rosehill, odd Anaheim didn't give him a try-out instead. Maybe someone remembered this?

Admirals defenseman Jay D. Rosehill was arrested Friday and charged with stealing a car while his team was on the road.

Rosehill, 22, was released on bond from the Broome County Jail on a felony charge of third-degree grand larceny, the Press & Sun-Bulletin newspaper of Bunghamton reported. His release came shortly before the Admirals played the Senators.

The Broome County Sheriff's Office said a vehicle had been reported stolen from the parking lot of Madame Oar's, a Binghamton strip club.

A club employee said she had started the car and left it to warm up when it was taken.

Shortly after the report was made, about 1:25 a.m., a deputy spotted the car pulling into the parking lot of the Xhibition Gentlemen's Club.

The deputy said he saw a man, later identified as Rosehill, run from the car, the Press & Sun-Bulletin reported.

Rosehill was signed back on October 3rd to Norfolk on a 25-game tryout if that's what you mean. I just think it's odd he's not on the Ducks themselves books anywhere after this lockout ended, but beggars can't be choosy!

Surprised fatty would bring in PL3 after witnessing this firsthand a couple years ago. Glad to see him picked up though!
