ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed right wing Nick Sorensen to a three-year entry-level contract.

Sorensen, 19 (10/23/94), scored 56-61=117 points with a +35 rating and 63 penalty minutes (PIM) in 98 career games with the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). Sorensen also appeared in 13 career QMJHL Playoff games, collecting 13-6=19 points with 18 PIM. He set several career highs this season, including points (31-30=61), goals, assists, game-winning goals (6), power-play goals (13) and plus/minus (+16). In five playoff games this year, Sorensen led the team in goals and co-led in scoring (6-3=9) during Quebec’s first-round playoff series vs. Rouyn-Noranda.

Selected by Anaheim in the second round (45th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, Sorensen scored 2-4=6 points with a +4 rating and four PIM to help lead Sweden to a silver medal at the 2014 IIHF World Junior Championship. Sorensen also won silver with Sweden at the 2013 World Juniors, appearing in six tournament games.
