Ducks Sign Maxime Macenauer and Eric Regan

ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed center Maxime Macenauer and defenseman Eric Regan to three-year entry-level contracts.

Macenauer, 19 (1/4/89), appeared in his second season with Rouyn-Noranda of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) in 2007-08, playing in a career-high 67 contests. The 6-0, 198-pound center finished fifth in scoring for the Huskies, helping the club to a first-place finish in the Telus Division. Macenauer also appeared in 17 postseason contests, advancing to the President Cup Final with Rouyn-Noranda while collecting 6-10=16 points.

Selected by Anaheim in the third round (63rd overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, the Laval, Quebec, native has appeared in 122 career QMJHL contests over three seasons with Rimouski and Rouyn-Noranda. He has earned 32-54=86 points with 93 penalty minutes (PIM).

Regan, 20 (5/20/88), played in his fourth Ontario Hockey League (OHL) season with Oshawa in 2007-08, setting career highs in goals (8), points (48) and games played (67). The 6-2, 205-pound blueliner served as team captain and had two season-high five-game point streaks. Regan also collected 1-7=8 points in 15 OHL playoff games, helping lead the Generals to the OHL Eastern Conference Championship series. In 2006-07, he established a career high with 41 assists at Oshawa. In 252 career OHL contests, Regan has collected 16-96=112 points with 156 PIM.

The Ajax, Ontario native joined the Ducks’ Rookie Camp earlier this month as a Pro Tryout and was invited to remain for Anaheim’s Training Camp, currently being held at Anaheim ICE.
