Ducks Sign Joseph Cramarossa to Entry-Level Contract

ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed center Joseph Cramarossa to a three-year entry-level contract. Per club policy, no financial terms of the deal were disclosed.

Cramarossa, 20 (10/26/92), has scored a career-best 17-39=56 points with a +15 rating and 76 penalty minutes (PIM) in 60 contests for the Belleville Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) this season. He has scored 18 points (3-15=18) in the last 11 games, including seven multi-point games and a four-point contest (1-3=4) for Belleville on Feb. 23 vs. Peterborough. The 6-0, 190-pound center ranks third on the club in points, second in assists and fourth in both goals and plus/minus this season. Cramarossa had a career-high five-point night with his first career hat trick (3-2=5, +4) on Jan. 11 against Kingston. He has helped the Bulls stay atop the OHL’s Eastern Conference with a 39-15-3-3 record (84 points), winning 10 straight from Feb. 9-27. The club set a franchise record for wins in the month of February, posting a record of 11-1-0-0.

A native of Toronto, Ontario, Cramarossa scored 14-13=27 points in 44 combined contests with Mississauga and Belleville in 2011-12. He was acquired by Belleville on Jan. 5 and went on to have a season-best four-game point streak (3-1=4) from Jan. 12-18. Selected by Anaheim in the third round (65th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Cramarossa has scored 49-82=131 points with a +30 rating in 227 career OHL games. In addition, Cramarossa has appeared in 34 career OHL Playoff contests, notching 4-6=10 points with 35 PIM. He scored 2-2=4 points in 14 OHL Playoff contests in 2011, helping the Majors advance to the Memorial Cup final.
