Ducks Send Fedoruk to Philadelphia, Acquire Parros
ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has acquired a fourth-round draft choice in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for left wing Todd Fedoruk. The club also acquired a conditional right to exchange fifth-round selections with the Flyers in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. The Ducks also announced they acquired right wing George Parros from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for a second-round draft pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft (previously acquired from Atlanta for Vitaly Vishnevski). In addition, Anaheim has the option to exchange third-round selections with Colorado in the 2007 Entry Draft.
Fedoruk, 27 (2/13/79), has missed the last eight games with a broken cheekbone. He appeared in 10 games with Anaheim in 2006-2007, earning 0-3=3 points with 36 penalty minutes. A native of Redwater, Alta., Fedoruk has appeared in 306 career NHL games, earning 14-40=54 points with 701 penalty minutes. The 6-2, 241-pound winger was acquired by Anaheim from Philadelphia in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2005 NHL Entry draft on July 29, 2005. He was drafted by Philadelphia in the seventh round (164th overall) of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. Parros, 26 (12/29/79), has played in two games with Colorado this season, going scoreless. The Washington, Pa. native was claimed by Colorado off waivers from Los Angeles on Oct. 3, 2006. In 57 career NHL games, Parros has recorded 2-3=5 points with 138 penalty minutes (PIM). Before turning pro, the 6-4, 232-pounder spent four seasons at Princeton University where he collected 20-32=52 points with 117 (PIM) in 111 games. In addition, Parros has played 133 career American Hockey League games, recording 17-15=32 points with 380 PIM. Parros was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the eighth round (222nd overall) of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. Last edited by Thrillhouse; 11-13-2006 at 02:39 PM. |

Interesting deal here! I thought the fridge was really well liked by his teammates and his style of play...being a decent skater and getting in on the forecheck was working well for the Ducks.
Oh well, glad to see him back in the eastern conference where he doesn't have to fight giants everynight and can still do one hell of a job!

My throbber is not going to go down for quite some time...
Curious as to what they are going to do about him being injured and all though, and if he is going to be a full time flyer or up and down or just a phantom? He obviously should be up on the flyers in my opinion. I kind of predicted this by the way...i said in a post a few weeks ago that its not a long shot for him to come back here, his wife and kid are here

Good move by Philly to bring him back. Now if the Thrashers get Lessard back from the Rags, life would be good. But good to see Philly do this. what is gonna happen to Thornton in Anaheim now ? I would NOT go with Parros over him fighting wise. |

As soon as Ducks get rid of one tough guy they trade for a replacement. That's great to see! I'm glad they're doing good since they understand the importance of mixing skill with toughness
I'd rather see Ducks playing Thornton the majority of the time. Since I think he has earned his rosterspot on a NHL team after years of hard work and determination in the minors. Plus I think Shawn is the better player. But most important will be that they dress an enforcer Last edited by Brash_Fan; 11-13-2006 at 02:20 PM. |

Im absolutely thrilled to hear this. It's amazing, thought of it but never thought it would actually happen. Hope the boogie hit didn't do to much to his head. We welcome you back with open arms Fedoruk! Welcome home =)
