ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned center Andrew Ebbett to the Portland Pirates, Anaheim's primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Ebbett, 25 (1/2/83), has appeared in three games with the Ducks this season, going scoreless with a +3 rating and two penalty minutes (PIM). He most recently appeared for the Ducks on Feb. 29 vs. Calgary (3-1 win), going scoreless while logging 14:43 time on ice (TOI). Ebbett made his NHL debut on Feb. 22 vs. St. Louis, recording two shots and a +1 rating in 11:57 TOI. In 56 games with the Pirates, Ebbett has scored 13-45=58 points with 60 PIM. He currently ranks tied for seventh in the AHL in points, fourth in assists and tied for 10th in power play assists (19). He has recorded 18 multiple-point games with Portland, including seven three-point contests.

Signed as a free agent on May 16, 2007, Ebbett made his professional hockey debut in 2006-07 with Binghamton (Ottawa's AHL affiliate), scoring 26-39=65 points in 71 games. He led the Senators in assists and ranked second in points while posting a +7 rating last season.

A native of Vernon, B.C., Ebbett played four seasons with the University of Michigan from 2002-2006. He appeared in 167 games with the Wolverines, collecting 38-106=144 points with 131 PIM. In his senior season, Ebbett finished eighth in scoring in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) and was named a finalist for the CCHA Best Defensive Forward award. As a junior, he led Michigan to the CCHA title while setting a collegiate career high for assists in a season (31).

I guess I can see this for now, he needs some more time in the "A" before the big club, hopefully next season or even this one, he'll get some more ice time at the NHL level.
