Ducks Re-Sign Brad May

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed left wing Brad May to a two-year contract.

May, 35 (11/29/71), played in 24 games during the 2006-07 regular season between Anaheim and Colorado, scoring 0-4=4 points with 21 penalty minutes (PIM). In 14 regular season games with Anaheim, the Toronto, Ontario native recorded 0-1=1 point with 13 PIM after being acquired from Colorado on Feb. 27 in exchange for Michael Wall. In 18 playoff games with the Ducks, May scored 0-1=1 point with 28 PIM.

May also played in 10 games with Colorado last season, scoring 0-3=3 points. The 6-1, 220-pound forward missed the first 53 games of the season with a shoulder injury, returning to action Feb. 8 vs. Atlanta. May has appeared in 882 career NHL games, scoring 123-153=276 points with 2,040 penalty minutes (PIM). He has also played in 82 career playoff games, scoring 4-9=13 points with 108 PIM.

May was drafted by Buffalo in the first round (14th overall) of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. He played with Buffalo from 1991-1998 before being traded to Vancouver on Feb. 4, 1998 with Buffalo's third-round draft pick in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for Geoff Sanderson. May had two stints with the Canucks (1998-2000 & 2002-2004) and played three seasons in Phoenix from 2000 to 2002. May signed with Colorado as a free agent on Aug. 5, 2005.

Another potential UFA gone. He's worth keeping. Burke likes players like May, and he also played well in the post-season! 3/4th liner replacing Thorntons spot?

All over the state of MN there are fans raising there hands to the sky and thanking the powers above. YESSSSS! And there is a huge guy named Boogy that is probably going out partying tonight to celebrate. I think I'm going to throw a game/tv party for the first few games against the Ducks! Of course he will probably be suspened by then for some more throw away player cheap shots

Very good news, glad to see May back for another year...

The Ducks may have lost Thornton, but they still have May, and Parros, along with a bunch of other players who are willing.

First thing I thought too - it will be nice to have another chance to see May play for one more year. Hopefully he can stay healthy....

Who cares about Stache, they would probably end up fighting anyway and I would put my money on Boogy anyway. What we want and is going to be funny is May. As stated in here May is washed up and will be committing suicide if Boogy can get him to drop his gloves. May wanted nothing to do with Boogy during the playoffs (the announcers were even stating it) and it will be interesting to see what he does when he and everybody knows he has got his medicine coming.

If he can stay healthy, May will be a solid 4th liner. He played in all the SC finals games-a washed up player would be a spectator in the pressbox during that time in the season. He may have the heart, but his fighting skills will never be what they used to be. He's good for some MW bouts-even tackle some HWs. If the stach is dressed, don't expect May to take on the Parkers and Boogaards. That's a little overkill to expect May to droppem with the likes of Boogaard. May brings alot off the ice also.
