Ducks Activate Giguere; Place Ozolinsh on IR; Loan Wall to Augusta

ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has activated goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere from the injured reserve list. In addition, the club put defenseman Sandis Ozolinsh on injured reserve and sent goaltender Michael Wall on loan to the Augusta Lynx of the ECHL.

Giguere, 28 (5/16/77), has played 15 games in 2005-06, earning a 6-3-4 record with a 2.49 goals-against-average (GAA) and .915 save percentage (SV%). The 6-1, 200-pound netminder has missed seven games (Nov. 16-18 & Nov. 22-30) with a strained hamstring.

A native of Montreal, Quebec, Giguere was acquired by Anaheim from Calgary in exchange for a second round pick in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft on June 10, 2000.

Wall, 20 (7/25/85), has dressed in eight games with Anaheim this season, but has not played in a game. He has played in eight games with Portland (AHL) in 2005-2006, going 4-4-0 with a 3.53 GAA and .881 SV%.

The 6-2, 189-pound native of Telkwa, British Columbia, signed a three-year entry level contract with Anaheim on Sept. 29, 2005.
