While I agree that when shiit goes down, it's not the most securing feeling to have Cote in your corner, rather have a bonafide HW, but he's game, so he at least takes the toughest guy to the penalty box for five.

How do you think Orr would look in orange and black?
id cream myself if ORR dawned the orange and black. He would definately be used right and his style would definately fit the mold

I just don't think the Flyers will give up on Cote, but they may go after an AHL brawler (like Gratton last year), maybe somebody like Westgarth, just to make Cote earn his job, because he is sitting pretty with only Garret Klotz in the A.

Orr would look great and be much more appreciated in orange and black.

If the thread was about the Rangers, I would be saying much worse BSB. Maybe Cote improves which would be great.

cote doesnt have a chance to improve. His best shot is throw like the sob did his first yr and learn to use the left. If he cant do that hes gonna be worthless

I sense some angst in the back of your mind, as a Flyer fan, I can only hope you bastaads carry a HW next year, it's make for some fun.

Cote is in experimental mode right now, but he has to see the writing on the wall, he was awful last season and is feared by no one, ne needs to find his style in the off-season, not to mention develop a right hand, or else he's toast. He's following in the footsteps of such greats such as Dave Schultz, Behn Wilson, Craig Berube, Dave Brown, Sandy McCarthy and Donald Brashear, right now, he belongs nowhere near being mentioned in the same breath as these guys.

IMO, the Flyers have a reputation to uphold, and if he isn't getting the job done by pre-season, then Homer will be in the hunt for a replacement.

See this is what I want the kings and duck fans too have!!!

Kings and ducks fans, no more bitching when the opposite team bashes your team. Thats how we get to the flyers vs rags status!! And then we all win!

I am on the fence about this deal. The prime pronger I loved. He is not getting older and has alot of question marks. Can he keep up his physical presence in front of the net? How is his skating for a Dman...also I think Sbisa is going to be a stud.

But hey Homr had to do something and I like the way he takes chances. If Emery can be even a little better then what Biron was last year this is a cup team on paper. Just need to see how the olde city crew (richards, carter, hartnell) prodcues.

BUTTT im loving how the moves so far keep this team gritty and physical even our GOALIE hahaha....def expect the flyers to be near the top in overall team fights this year.

I assume you meant learn to use the right b/c he is a southpaw. IMO, if Cote has a right hand he wins more of his draws and more of his losses are draws. Plus the voting is shammed by biasness here and he loses some clear draws b/c he's Riley Cote of the Flyers. Which is no excuse...we want a guy who takes it to em every fight. But I think if he developed a solid right he'd be a completely different/better fighter and wouldn't lose nearly as much. B/c what guys did was just lock his left out and fire at will. If he can't throw, its over.

I still have faith in Riles. He does his job....may not win all the time and it gets frustrating but unlike the masses, I'll stick by him. At least he fights unlike prima-donna brashear the last year he was in Philly.

Philly gets very good player thats 100% thing.
In next year Philly might be a tough opponent if they gets some other good players to the team yet.
Price losts but sometimes have to do it, loses some promise to getting winning team.

Kimmo Timonen is needed on the PK almost as much as Richards is. How could you say he's expendable? When he was out for a few games last season, our PK went to ****. No one could bring up the puck and the turnovers made me want to throw my beer through the tv set.

Cup contenders by just adding Pronger?

No way.

If anything, I think the ducks raped Philly in this trade.

But a pick isnt even a promise, half the time they dont even pan out. we got what we paid for and thats a top 5 nasty dman

like someone said 6 or 7 years ago this would be a good trade but now well just see more cheapshots and crosby and malkin blowing by pronger to the net. i can only hope pronger has the balls to drop the gloves with godard but we all know he only drops them lucic style out of his weight class
