Ruutu is an ok player but good role player.
Ducks looks quite mean team actually.

Ottawa really seems serious about rebuilding.

Fisher, Kelly, Ruutu...who's next? Kovalev? Maybe even Spezza?

I didnt see much a sense when Ottawa give up Fisher.
Trading Kovalev or Spezza is ok if they gets a good players to own team but trading both away is clearly wrong.
I think trading Kovalev would be an ok move, because Kovalev sucks more or less.
He has no heart.

spezza to a contender for prospects/high picks would be an OK rebuilding move as long as they can land something worth it. spezza is still a capable 1st line guy and not THAT old so they can choose to keep him too
i have hated a kovalev ever since he joined nhl. that guy seriously needs a beating, a motivational beating that is..
jarkko ruutu is a ducks type of player who can still stir the pot. i see him thrive in that organisation

Neil would be a great pick up for any team. Habs sure could use his toughness.

Kovalev and Phillips will be traded since they are UFA's July 1st.

Spezza and maybe Neil are staying.

There goes the second of my faves from the only good line.

Glad they traded Roots to a team far far away......

Nice pickup by the Ducks for real cheap. Ruutu is as good at playing the role of pest as anyone, and he's been doing it for a long time. Combine him with some of the other guys in Anaheim and the Ducks could be miserable to play against come playoff time (if they're able to hold down a playoff spot).

Spezza's really coming into his own, and is young enough to stay around for the rebuild. How does it make more sense to trade Spezza than Fisher?
