Devils Sign Janssen, Marshall, Grand-Pierre, Moran, Clarke and Magnan

I remember a (playoff?) game several years ago where he had a few good hits, one on Berube if memory serves, so Berube takes his stick and goes to cross-check him, and completely shatters his stick on Grand-Pierre's side/back. Good stuff. The guy's big, can fight, and can definitely hit, but for whatever reason he's never really been able to succeed at the NHL level. I could see a two-way deal resulting in playing time for him on some teams, but I don't think Jersey's one of them. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I can't find any articles regarding this, but there are a few sites which have both of them on the roster for next year and have their new salaries included as of yesterday. $475K for Marshall, and $550K for Janssen.

Marshall fought a couple of times when he was with the Devils in 2005-2006, and if he makes the big club again I think he'll be good for a few fights. I love Grant and the way he plays.

The Janssen signing was confirmed, not sure about Grant Marshall yet though.

It's probably a good chance he'll end up at Lowell, I don't see the Devils carrying a guy like Grand-Pierre, unless he's a better skater and player than I remember, in which case I'd welcome him with open arms. As much as I like Mike Rupp, I'd rather have JLGP in there.

Of course, maybe the Devils just signed him so Kevin Weekes doesn't feel like the token.

God I'd take Grant Marshall on my team any day of the week. A guy a lot like Jimmy Cummins in that he'd take on anyone for any teammate - and do so with a smile on his face. Has no question as to why he's in the "bigs" and goes about his business.

Good to see Cam and Marshall get re-signed by the Devils, after New Jersey just brought in Jean-Luc Grand-Pierre earlier today as well (Barring the confirmation of both sets of signings. Hopefully they both get confirmed). If both signings do happen to be true, then the Devils at least have some good tough players on their roster. They may not have a legit heavyweight, but they have several guys that can drop the mitts. Marshall, Janssen, and Grand-Pierre are all very entertaining players/fighters. You have to like the way that all three of them play.
