Devils Sign Janssen, Marshall, Grand-Pierre, Moran, Clarke and Magnan
The New Jersey Devils today re-signed forwards Cam Janssen and Grant Marshall and defenseman Olivier Magnan, while signing defensemen Jean-Luc Grand-Pierre and Ian Moran, and forward Noah Clarke to new contracts. The announcement was made by Devils’ CEO/President/General Manager Lou Lamoriello.
Janssen, 23, will be entering his third NHL season, and fourth season with the organization. The 6-0, 210-lb. right wing split 2006-07 between New Jersey and Lowell (AHL). Janssen saw action in 48 NHL games last season, recording his first career NHL goal, while posting a team-high 114 penalty minutes. He also had one assist and 29 penalty minutes in nine AHL appearances. Janssen made his pro debut with Albany (AHL) in 2004-05. He was New Jersey’s sixth choice, and 117th overall selection in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Born April 15, 1984 in St. Louis, MO, Janssen played his major junior hockey at Windsor and Guelph (OHL). Marshall, 34, posted eight goals and 16 assists for 24 points and 31 penalty minutes in 59 games played with Lowell in 2006-07. The veteran of ten NHL seasons has career totals of 92 goals and 147 assists for 239 points in 700 games with Dallas, Columbus, and New Jersey. Marshall has spent the past three seasons with the Devils’ organization, after being acquired from the Blue Jackets on March 10, 2003. The 6-1, 200 lb. forward was Toronto’s second choice, and 23rd overall selection in the 1992 Entry Draft. Marshall was born June 9, 1973 in Mississauga, Ont. Magnan, 21, spent his first season as a pro with both Trenton (ECHL) and Lowell, appearing in 69 contests overall. The 6-2, 200-lb. defenseman from Sherbrooke, Que. will attend his second NHL training camp in September. Magnan was New Jersey’s sixth choice, 148th overall in the 2006 Entry Draft, after playing three-plus seasons with Rouyn-Noranda (QMJHL). Last edited by Thrillhouse; 07-24-2007 at 05:27 PM. |

a 5'9 175lb left wing with barely a cup of coffee in the NHL? Definitely a depth signing.

Devils Re-Sign Janssen and Marshall (Unconfirmed)
Great news, according to hockeyweb.de a german Hockeysite
Grand-Pierre signed a 2-way Deal with the New Jersey Devils. Great News, I wished myself a player like this for the Devils. He is not a real #1 Fighter but a great #2 who can beat Heavys from time to time. And Lowell can definitly need toughness.. Great news! |

I think this is pretty good news.
I was just wondering what ever happebed to him the other day, so it's good to see him with the Devils now. Grand-Pierre is a pretty tough player that can play physical and even fight from time-to-time, so it's good to see him back. The Devils needed a player like him in the lineup. He's not a bad fighter.
