Devils Re-Sign Bryce Salvador

Defenseman Bryce Salvador has re-signed with the New Jersey Devils, it has been announced by Devils' President, CEO and General Manager Lou Lamoriello.

Salvador, 32, was acquired by New Jersey on Feb. 26, 2008, in a deal that sent Cam Janssen to the St. Louis Blues. The 6-2, 220-lb., blueliner made eight appearances for the Devils in 2007-08.

The native of Brandon, Manitoba, has 16 goals and 47 assists in 455 games split between St. Louis and New Jersey.

A somewhat hefty price but oh well. I like Salvador and so I guess it's a pretty good move. He's one of the better defensive defensemen that's a UFA.

Definitely more than I expected him to sign for, but he's a good player for the Devils to keep around.

He is a good player to have, could be a number 4 man really and he provides some grit on the back line, especially with Brookbank there too.

Anyone know what he was making previously?

That's not too bad then, there are worse salaries to double.

And they re-upped with David Clarkson. Smart move IMO.
