Devils Claim Tom Kostopoulos off Waivers from Penguins

The Devils today claimed right wing Tom Kostopoulos off waivers from Pittsburgh.

Kostopoulos, 34, has played 17 games this season for the Penguins' AHL affiliate in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, tallying three goals and four assists. His assist Saturday against Albany gave him points in four straight games (3g-1a).

The Mississauga native spent last season in Calgary, where he posted four goals and eight assists in 81 games with the Flames. He's recorded 100-or-more penalty minutes in four of his 10 NHL campaigns.

Drafted by Pittsburgh in the seventh round, 204th overall, in 1999, Kostopoulos has made stops in Los Angeles, Montreal and Carolina. He has 60 goals, 96 assists and 705 penalty minutes in 615 career games.

I wondered where he had gone since be left Calgary. Always liked this guy even though he wasn't that great of a fighter.

He's a guy you want on your team. Goodluck to him.

He will wear #25

Better hockey player than Cam Janssen. I guess that was the Devil's thinking.

Terrible fighter though. The only guy he can beat is Kevin Bieksa.

Which means that if you wanted to skew his abilities in a positive way, he has a 100% TKO/KO win record.

No other fighter comes close to that kind of dominant win record!

So now the Devils have the worst HW in the league AND the worst MW in the league.

I think TKO is just a bit better than Craig Adams.

See, I don't think he's that bad of a fighter. He just never wins. Craig Adams, Matt Bradley, and Gregory Campbell just suck.
