This was to make room for Adam Henrique to come back and play tonight. They wanted him to come back as well as keep Matteau up to give him a closer look. If Matteau doesn't work out, expect to see Janssen back up with the big club.

If Matteau plays one more game then the first year of his entry level contract kicks in. They should probably make their decision on him now.

I wonder if Janssen's comments had anything to do with McLaren being picked up but not him...

Anyway, Janssen had a relatively easy route to the NHL, being drafted, never playing in the ECHL, and more than 300 games under his belt at the age of 28. I hope the Devils bring him back up for good soon and he finds a new, safe home for next season.

Not often a 28-year-old veteran of over 300 NHL games goes unclaimed on waivers, Dallas, Detroit, Anaheim, San Jose, Montreal, Ottawa, Calgary, Vancouver, Tampa, Pittsburgh, and Washington could have really used him.

What the hell is Cam making this year? I'm amazed he cleared if it was enforcer level pay. You would think someone would scoop him up.

For what it's worth, I asked Devils' beat writer Tom Gulitti if he thinks Cam could get called up again later in the season if he were to clear and he said, "Definitely." And while that's obviously not Lou saying that, it gives me hope.

I hope he's back up by the time I go to Devils-Rangers in March.

This sucks. I would think that Bam Bam's typically long & entertaining scraps would be more of a boost to a team than watching Krys Barch get beat up night in and night out.

Anaheim has Staubitz healthy scratched and PL3, Rosehill and Bodie waiting for a call up. They won't be claiming a fighter off waivers.
