Daniel Carcillo Suspended Four Games
 

TORONTO – Philadelphia Flyers forward Daniel Carcillo has been suspended for four games, without pay, as a result of a deliberate blow to the face of Washington Capitals forward Matt Bradley during NHL Game #419 in Washington, December 5, the National Hockey League announced today.

The incident took place at 14:33 of the first period. Bradley suffered an injury and did not return to the game.

As a repeat offender, under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Carcillo will forfeit $43,597.56. The money goes to the Players'
Emergency Assistance Fund.

Carcillo will miss games Dec. 7 at Montreal, Dec. 8 against the New York Islanders, Dec. 10 against Ottawa and Dec. 12 at New Jersey. He will be eligible to return Dec. 14 at Boston.

And the NHL gets another one wrong.

This is just uncalled for by the NHL and ridiculous. Bad move my Dan? Yes. Dirty? Sure. NHL record 29 PMs? NO! Was this really the dirtiest hit in history?!? Come on! Why did the ref refuse to tell Richards and Prongs why Washington got off scot-free? Sorry, but if you drop the gloves it's an automatic 5 minute. What took him so long to drop the gloves anyway, he even admitted that error himself. Carcillo received a serious talk from Homer and Richy, I think he gets the message. This is completely uncalled for NHL. You can't punish a guy like this with not nearly enough reason.

Scott Walker did the same thing in last years playoffs when he smoked Aaron Ward, and he got NOTHING, but Carcillo got the jump on Bradley who had every intention of fighting and he gets 4 games. What a ***** league.

I didn't realize Carcillo only had 2 goals, they're definately not going to miss his offensive skill set.
