I thought he would end up here. Chicago's really surprising me with the toughness they have added. Does this mean John Scott gets no ice time ever.

So, Chicago signs Carcillo, O'Donnell, and Mayers. Detroit re-signs Eaves, Miller, while only adding a fraction of the element of toughness with a temperamental Commodore. Detroit definately has their own system. Ericsson really doesn't add any degree of toughness or grit. But I can see his value.

All this talk of regime change after getting ousted in the playoffs consecutive years, they keep heading down the same road year after year. Rafalskis retirement freed up an additional $6.5 mil on top of the existing $6 mil they already have. Instead of changing up their 3rd/4th line forwards, they do the typical. Any of the these 3 players Chicago signed would have been a promising addition to this team.

I dont know why, but I think Carcillo is going to become a little more like his old days now that Lavy isnt his coach. Good signing for the Hawks considering the price.

Commie seems to be very happy to be here. If he can keep his injuries limited, not develop an attitude, and stay out of the doghouse, he has a promising year ahead of him! Oh, and keep the fighting to a minimum!

In an interview earlier this week, Stan Bowman emphasized that Scott was going to have extra work this summer with specialized instructors to work on his skating skills. The club is doing this to get him more ice time next season.

John Scott can play defense and has for the hawks before, but I'm sure they will have more then enough d-men.

Believe it or not, the Hawks liked what they saw of him at forward, thus the extra skating instruction.

I think that no matter what the feelings about him are, Mr. Pink said it best.

I like this signing as long as he can make an effort to eliminate the diving.

I'm really liking what the Hawks have done recently, but the O'Donnell signing got me worried about where Scott will fit in. If Campoli resigns, then that gives us 8 D-men, and Scott had trouble getting in the lineup as a #7. Bowman has said he would like to see him get more ice time, yet he may have gotten pushed even further down the depth chart...guess we'll have to wait and see.

Like others, still holding out hope for Z since we still need a 4th line center

That's just it, putting him at forward makes far more sense with the additions on the blue line.

As a forward, there is no where near as much lateral movement for a big guy like him. And having watched him a lot in his career, that is his BIG issue. Watching him pivot and open up was almost painful to watch.

Hopefully with him as a forward, its a lot more straight forward crashing and banging.

Couple that now with Carcillo and Mayers... not a bad little bit of toughness.
