Can't wait to see him back in the NHL and wish him no more injuries for a long time

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying he isn't a good fighter ... I just wonder if he hasn't been propelled to hero status here despite an average card and inactivity...

Just sayin'.
Don't see how his card is average. He's fought all the heavies in the west, though his card is missing Laraque, Brashear and Orr. But he is also voted as the winner, or voted draw, in all of his fights except his 3 against Boogaard in his entire NHL career. That's pretty damn impressive.

Who are the beasts out east that you think he will have troubles with? Peters? An old and broken Brashear? Maybe Thornton?

His fights w/Boogard are proof enough
I agree that he has potential, if he can stay healthy, but potential and if's are what they are. Some here have lifted him to some pedestal based on that.

By average I'm not saying bad. I'm saying it's an average card for an NHL HW in the West.... and while I agree that his record is impressive (voting skewed?), it has to be put in the perspective that his entire NHL career is 30 fights....

Boogey X3 - all losses
Thornton X2
Parker
Hordi X2
Shelley X3
Parros X4
Barch X3
Godard
Stortini
W. Brookbank
Ivanans
Sestito
K. Westgarth
Exelby

Orr? BGL? Godard again? Carkner? Big Mac? Don't see Belak.... Don't see McGratts who just went west. My point wasn't East vs West it was guys he hadn't faced.

Just to clarify... i'm not saying he's not a good fighter. I'm not saying he doesn't have potential. I'm just saying that he has been lifted to some mythical status by some, despite a rather abbreviated career. Will he rehab abd live up to the hype? I guess that reamains to be seen. Gratts did ... For the good of HFights I hope King does too .....

Pretty good card for a young heavy
Those 3 losses against Boogard weren't one sided fights either

Payne seems to have a better attitude than Murray about tough guys. There may be some hope for him to get a solid look when he gets back up.

He has fought Orr in the AHL there is a clip of the fight up in the clip section. Check it out it is a very good tilt.

Yeah, it's gonna be interesting to see how Payne handles things. I was kind of hoping Winchester would screw up somewhere down the line but he's actually played decent. Hate to say it, but I think King could be the odd man out if a trade were possible.

Well, he fought Godard.

Big Mac is up and down like a yo-yo so there is no telling if/when they will fight.

BGL doesn't fight at all.

So we have Carkner and Orr. Decent fighters, but compared to the guys already on his list, it isn't anything new for him.

I'm hoping Washington picks him up once he's healthy.

Last night on the Blues radio side, Chris Kerber said he was a scratch but that doesn't mean much. I hope he's back this weekend against the Ducks.

It looks like the Blues will be on the outside looking in for this years playoffs. Usually teams like that trade off some of their assets at the deadline. Is there any chance that King would be part of a deal or in a package of other players this year? I think that there would be a few teams that would be interested in him despite all of the injuries that he's had. The Blues have quite a bit of toughness even without him in the lineup and I'm not too sure that you can have both him and Janssen dressed together too often as they're both pretty terrible players, especially Cam. At least King is still young enough to improve as a player and has some potential, providing that he can stay healthy, but Cam is awful and is too old to improve as a player at this point.

I think King is a better all around player(as far as tough guys go) than Janssen but in a trade package he could bring more back than Cam could. Then again so could Crombeen so I think either King or Crombeen may be in a package. Something has gotta give in St. Louis.
