really? I'm surprised this guy still gets an NHL job. He hasn't played much the last 2 years but was also sent to the ECHL 2 years ago.

He's been the backup in Charlotte/Albany and was decent. He was just the odd man out when the organization decided Justin Peters isn't NHL ready and are sending him back to Charlotte so Pogge has no spot.

Justin Pogge has alot of potential, but he has not been in the right system to develop, Pogge is one of those kids that needs to find an AHL franchise that is going to give him the time to develop. If anyone says that he had enough time in the Maple Leafs system, well they are flucken nuts, It is hard to develop as a goalie if you are playing with players that play NO defensive system, an your cupboard was really bare of prospects in the years you were there. Pogge was 19-9-5 last year bouncing around between three ahl an Echl teams, witch are good numbers for a young goalie. Pogge has got the size at 6,3 - 210. Hopefully Pogge can put it together an make a good carreer out of his talent, even if it is as a carreer back-up goalie, ala Alex Auld.....

We both know that goaltenders usually develop alot later than most postions. Look at Tuukka Rask, he is an awesome goalie but with Tim Thomas being the greatest goalie in hockey at the moment, Rask has to sit an wait his turn, if he want to remain a member of the Boston Bruins. Henrik Karlsson in Calgary is in the same spot as Rask, guys just waiting there time, till it's there time to shine....

Don't get me wrong I am not comparing Rask an Karlsson to Pogge, but to my point that most goalies develop later because of many factors.... What if everyone gave up on an aging in Tim Thomas, would Boston be celebrating this summer, I don't think so......

there is one big difference...karlsson proved himself in europe, rask has shown flashes in boston, this pogge's 4th team in 6 years, not to mention being shipped to the echl because he was the odd man out on an ahl team...if he is so good, that wouldn't have happened.

Tim Thomas played for seven teams in five years, including the Birmingham Bulls of the ECHL, before he managed to find a regular spot on Providence/Boston in the 02-03 season. I still think he's a pretty decent goalie though.
