Coyotes Recall Josh Gratton from Conditioning Stint
GLENDALE, ARIZONA – Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled left wing Josh Gratton from the San Antonio Rampage (AHL).
Gratton has not played in any NHL games this season after suffering a broken finger during the Coyotes’ first preseason game at Anaheim on Sept. 16. During his two-week conditioning assignment with San Antonio, which began on Oct. 15, Gratton registered 34 penalty minutes (PIM) in six games. Gratton, 25, recorded 1-1-2 in 52 games last season. The 6-foot-2, 214-pound forward also led the Coyotes and ranked 2nd in the NHL with 188 PIM in 2006-07. The Coyotes collected a record of 25-25-2 in games in which Gratton was in the lineup last season. The Coyotes acquired Gratton from Philadelphia along with two 2nd round choices in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft for Denis Gauthier on Mar. 9, 2006. Gratton was originally signed as a free agent by Philadelphia on July 27, 2004. In 66 career NHL games with the Coyotes and Philadelphia, Gratton has recorded 2-1-3 and 232 PIM.

Don't know yet. We have two extra forwards on our roster(assuming Peter Mueller does not return to WHL). So most likely he will be scratched every now and then. Our regular scratches have been Mike York, Fredrick Sjostrom(euro), and Mathis Tjarnqvist(euro). He should compete with those guys.
Gretzky loves Gratton so we shouldn't worry too much. I will update on him if there is any news. |

You'd certainly hope so. Phoenix plays St. Louis tomorrow night, and DJ King and Matt Walker are right there for him to dance with.
