GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled defenseman David Rundblad and assigned center Andy Miele to the Portland Pirates, the Coyotes American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate.

The 6-foot-2, 189-pound Rundblad has played three games for the Coyotes this season. In 32 games with Portland, Rundblad has collected 6-17-23 and 10 penalty minutes (PIM). Rundblad ranks fifth on the Pirates in scoring and leads all Pirates defensemen in points.

Rundblad was originally drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the first round (17th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

The 5-foot-9, 175-pound Miele has played one game for the Coyotes this season. In 40 games with the Pirates, Miele has recorded 11-16-27 and 41 PIM. Miele ranks third on the team in points.

Miele was signed by the Coyotes as a free agent on April 2, 2011.
