Coyotes Recall Bell from San Antonio

Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced that the Coyotes have recalled defenseman Brendan Bell from the San Antonio Rampage (AHL).

Bell, 24, has recorded 4-5-9 and 12 penalty minutes (PIM) in 16 games with San Antonio this season.

The 6-foot-1, 205 pound defenseman played in 14 games and collected two assists for the Coyotes last season after being acquired from Toronto on Feb. 27, 2007 with a second round choice in the 2008 Entry Draft for Yanic Perreault and a fifth round choice in the 2008 Entry Draft.

For his NHL career, Bell has registered 1-6-7 and 27 PIM in 46 career games with Toronto and Phoenix.

Hopefully he proves himself and outplays Matt Jones. But hope this won't put Boynton's spot on the bubble or things will be happening the same way as Gratton.

What are you talking about? This is the first time Bell is with the team this year. He was never "sent" down. I think he has a 1-way contract.

You may be right about Gretz. Roenick and Mike Comire are having a great year so far.
