Kind of funny, I had been flipping through my 2010 yearbook earlier today and saw Stempniak was still listed as a FA, and I was wondering if he'd pop up in Phoenix again. 14 goals in 18 regular season games with the Coyotes, but nothing in the playoffs - I can see why Phoenix may have had to think twice before bringing him back - any word on the terms yet?
If he can pick up where he left off at the end of the season, bringing him back, along with Whitney, should be ebough to ensure a return to the playoffs for the Yotes.

It's just a rumor right now, nothing official. Stempniak figured he'd get a good offer on the open market but apparently that hasn't been the case. Phoenix made him an offer early into free agency and I guess it wasn't enough to impress and he decided to play the waiting game. It seems like it may have turned out to be one of the better offers he's received so far.

Anything new on this yet? Rumors have the thrashers trying to get him as well.

Last thing I heard it's still 50/50. Nothing official yet. Phoenix has only offered him a 1 year contract. Stempniak would like a longer deal and that may ultimately influence his decision.

Not sure if I agree 100% with Nash though... Looks like he is still speaking out his azz. Edit... It's official, but its 2 years at 1.75 per year.. 3.5 total... I'm sure Nash meant that, just had it worded weird. http://twitter.com/nhlupdate/status/22493245396
