GLENDALE, ARIZONA -- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Michael Barnett announced today that the Coyotes have signed center Kevyn Adams to a one-year contract.

Adams, 32, has played 14 games with the Coyotes this season, registering 0-3-3 and 4 penalty minutes (PIM). Adams was acquired from the Carolina Hurricanes on January 8, 2007 for Dennis Seidenberg.

Adams was an integral part of the Hurricanes’ Stanley Cup championship last season as he served as an alternate captain and skated in all 25 of the club’s postseason games. The Washington, DC native also registered a career-high 15 goals and 23 points while playing in all 82 regular season games in 2005-06. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Adams collected 2-2-4 and 17 PIM in 35 games with Carolina this season.

In 494 career NHL games, Adams has recorded 58-71-129 and 300 PIM with Phoenix, Carolina, Florida, Columbus, and Toronto. Adams was originally selected by Boston with their first selection (1st round, 25th overall) in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.
