Coyotes Re-Assign Murray to San Antonio

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have re-assigned center Garth Murray to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage.

Murray, 26, has appeared in 10 games for the Coyotes this season, recording 12 penalty minutes (PIM). In 25 games with the Rampage, Murray has registered 7-2-9 and 82 PIM.

Murray began last season with the Montreal Canadiens and appeared in one game before being claimed off waivers by the Florida Panthers. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Murray then suffered a season-ending shoulder injury after playing in six games and collecting 19 PIM with the Panthers. In 116 career NHL games with the New York Rangers, Canadiens, Panthers and Coyotes, Murray has recorded 8-2-10 and 131 PIM. He has also appeared in six career NHL playoff games.

A native of Regina, Saskatchewan, Murray was originally drafted by the New York Rangers in the third round (79th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
