Coyotes Place Adams and Scatchard on IR

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Michael Barnett announced today that the Coyotes have placed centers Kevyn Adams and Dave Scatchard on the club’s injured reserve list. Adams had wrist surgery last week and will be out of the lineup indefinitely. Scatchard suffered a concussion in the third period of last Saturday’s game versus the Pittsburgh Penguins and will also be out of the lineup indefinitely.

The Coyotes acquired Adams on Jan. 8 from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for defenseman Dennis Seidenberg. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Adams has played 7 games with the Coyotes this season, recording 2 assists and 2 penalty minutes (PIM). In 35 games with Carolina, Adams has collected 2-2-4 and 17 PIM.

The 32-year-old native of Washington, D.C. was originally selected by Boston with their first selection (1st round, 25th overall) in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.

The 6-foot-2, 224-pound Scatchard has played 42 games with the Coyotes this season, collecting 3-5-8 and 66 PIM.

The 30-year-old native of Hinton, Alberta was acquired from Boston in exchange for David Tanabe on November 18, 2005. He was originally drafted by Vancouver (2nd round, 42nd overall) in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft.

That sucks. Not that he's had a very good year, but I definitely like Scatchard.
