Coyotes Ink Paul Bissonnette to Two-Year Contract
GLENDALE, ARIZONA Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have signed forward Paul Bissonnette to a two-year contract extension.
We are very pleased to sign Paul to a multi-year extension, said Maloney. He plays an important role on our team and we are looking for him to take his game to the next level this season. Last season, the 6-foot-2, 216 pound Bissonnette appeared in 48 regular season games with the Coyotes, registering one goal and a team-high 71 PIM. He made his postseason debut in Game 4 of the Western Conference Quarter-Final series against Detroit. The 26-year-old native of Welland, Ontario has posted 4-3-7 and 210 PIM in 104 regular season games with Pittsburgh and Phoenix. Bissonnette was claimed off waivers by the Coyotes on Sept. 30, 2009. He was originally drafted in the fourth round (121st overall) by Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2003 Entry Draft. |
good deal. glad we wont have to worry about that. glad the Yotes know hes important.

Awesome. Put him and Chipchura in the lineup every night and I'll watch some Coyotes games.

$725,000 year one and $750,000 year two... are the terms

He must be the most known coyotes player in the city of phoenix now? Hes a great marketing tool for them even if he barely plays.
|
good for him. i hope he gets more ice time and plays the full season

love that he's still with the yotes, makes them fun to watch

Love this. Another tough guy is signed. Even though it is a 2-way it's still better than nothing. He will probably play 40-50 games this year and have about 13 fights.
Atleast they know they need to have a tough guy around to protect the guys. Good for them. Edit: Didn't read it right, thought it was a 2-way. My mistake boys. |

Good, NOW KEEP HIM IN THE LINEUP!

I can't say I'm a fan of Bissonnette but it's always good to see an enforcer get a new contract.
|
I'm pleased to see Phoenix still values an enforcer, especially for at least the next three years.

Good for Bizness
Glad to see Biznasty get his just desserts. I saw him play when he was with Wheeling and again with Wilkes-Barre. He's a hard worker and does plays out his role well. One of the smarter enforcers out there, he rarely takes a beating in a fight.

great a mediocre "enforcer" that is a wanna be power forward. At least he will still fight on occasion.
