Coyotes Deal Carcillo to Philadelphia For Upshall and Draft Pick
GLENDALE, ARIZONA -- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have acquired right wing Scottie Upshall and a second round draft choice in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for left wing Daniel Carcillo.

Upshall, 25, has recorded 7-14-21 and 63 penalty minutes (PIM) in 55 games this season for the Flyers, including two power play goals. In 211 career NHL games with Nashville and Philadelphia, the Fort McMurray, Alberta native has registered 38-55-93 and 197 PIM. Upshall also posted career-highs in goals (14), assists (16) and points (30) during the 2007-08 campaign.

The 6-foot, 197-pound Upshall also recorded 50-55-105 and 202 PIM in 123 career American Hockey League (AHL) games with Milwaukee and was a part of the 2004 Calder Cup Championship team. Prior to his professional career, Upshall spent three seasons with Kamloops of the Western Hockey League (WHL) where he registered 99-127-226 and 361 PIM in 172 games. In 2001, he was named the Canadian Major Junior Rookie of the Year. Upshall was originally drafted by Nashville in the first round (6th overall) of the 2002 Entry Draft.

Carcillo, 23, has registered 3-7-10 and 174 PIM in 54 games with the Coyotes this season. In 129 career NHL games, all with the Coyotes, the 5-foot-11, 207-pound Carcillo has recorded 20-21-41 and 572 PIM. He was acquired by the Coyotes from Pittsburgh on Feb. 27, 2007.
