Coyotes Buy Out Dave Scatchard

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have bought out the remaining two years on the contract of center Dave Scatchard.

Scatchard registered 14-17-31 and 156 penalty minutes in 93 games over two seasons with the Coyotes. He missed the final 32 games of the 2006-07 season with a concussion.

The Coyotes acquired Scatchard from Boston for David Tanabe on Nov. 18, 2005.

He won't. He's already confirmed he won't buy out either Boynton or Adams. On the bright side at least the Coyotes did spend some money this off season buying out Scatchard.

I realize he was overpaid, but when your only offseason move is buying out a gritty, hard-nosed guy like Scatchard, fans aren't exactly gonna want to flock to the arena next season.

Now he doesn't have an overpriced salary with him. Garth, sign him! A return to the Island might revive his career!

Sometimes its just better to buy someone out who isn't working out and just get a fresh start.
