Coyotes Assign Lessard, Turris, Three Others to San Antonio
GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have sent five players to the San Antonio Rampage (American Hockey League) training camp. There are now 31 players remaining in Coyotes training camp.

The following players have been sent to the San Antonio Rampage training camp:

Defenseman:
Jeff May

Forwards:
Chad Kolarik
Francis Lessard
Viktor Tikhonov
Kyle Turris

This isn't surprising. Phoenix just doesn't seem like the type of team to keep Lessard up. But that team desperately needs an enforcer and they're cutting them all.

I am a little surprised to see Turris and Tikhonov sent down already with 31 players still in camp.

Correct me if I am wrong, but are they allowed to bring players back to camp, after being cut? Or fullfill their respective rosters before waivers set in?
