Coyotes Assign Carcillo to San Antonio
GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have assigned left wing Daniel Carcillo to San Antonio of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Carcillo, 22, has recorded 5-7-12 and a league-leading 172 penalty minutes (PIM) in 33 games with the Coyotes this season. He has missed the last 15 games due to a knee injury. The King City, Ontario native played 18 games with the Coyotes last season after being acquired from Pittsburgh along with a third round choice in the 2008 Entry Draft in exchange for forward Georges Laraque on Feb. 27, 2007. Carcillo registered 4-3-7 and 74 PIM after making his NHL debut with the Coyotes on Mar. 3, 2007. The 5-foot-11, 203-pound Carcillo spent two seasons with Wilkes-Barre (AHL), recording 32-22-54 and 494 PIM in 103 games. Carcillo was originally drafted by Pittsburgh in the third round (73rd overall) of the 2003 Entry Draft. In 51 career NHL games with the Coyotes, he has recorded 9-10-19 and 246 PIM. |
