Coyotes Agree to Terms with Joel Rechlicz

GLENDALE, ARIZONA – Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have agreed to terms with forward Joel Rechlicz on a one-year, two-way contract. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 6-foot-4, 235-pound Rechlicz has played in 26 career NHL games with the New York Islanders and Washington Capitals recording 0-1-1 and 105 penalty minutes. Last season he appeared in three games for the Capitals. Rechlicz also posted 1-1-2 and 267 penalty minutes with the Hershey Bears (AHL) during the 2011-12 season. His 267 penalty minutes ranked second in the AHL.

Too bad that they already have Biz, not holding out much hope at more than a cup of coffee with the Coyotes next year. Good thing he's still young. You never know, this might be his big break.

If Wrecker gets 10 games in, I'll be happy.

Portland didnt had a real heavyweight (full time) since Bonneau.
It was about time and since Recker is a great fighter their fans will be happy.

And the Coyotes have a legit HW if they need some muscles.

Good deal! Hope "Wrecker" gets in some games in Phoenix! Me and Smash were talking and hoping the B's would sign him to a 2 way deal, inscurance for Thornton. But oh well,Yotes got him, hope they use him!

It's highly unlikely he sees much action in Phoenix but hopefully he'll provide some entertainment in the preseason.

They should just go the Vityaz way and goon it up. Maybe that will help save their franchise.

As a fight fan, I love this even though it's just for the AHL.

No way Rechlicz challenges Bissonnette for the enforcer role. Management claims they are going to try to give Biz more playing time next season (hah we'll see about that). The pre-season should be good for Phoenix.

Maybe. I wouldn't bet on it though. Bissonnette barely plays as it is. If he is hurt the Coyotes would likely replace him with another soft useless player.
