EXACTLY! That's my opinion too. Plus, how many seconds "late" was the hit? The common thing tought is you have 3 seconds to finish your check.

It was late and from behind... nice to know that's clean nowadays.
Your'e right - thats not a very good view of the hit and in that split second of footage I don't know how you jumped to that conclusion. Sounds like sour grapes to me. Still don't see anything dirty about it, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

If this was so bad, why did none of the flyers go after the wuss perry? it was an elbow that deserved the penalty, but that was it. I think many are basing this largely on Perry's aggressive play style.

Blatant elbow by Perry. I said it before in the Cote thread, the Flyers need to get an enforcer to answer some really cheap hits that teams are taking on their skilled players. Flyers are/were putting up some big numbers so teams will try and intimidate some of their skill players.

WTF did Mike Richards have to go after a guy twice his size when Gags went down ? Was Cote glued to the friggin bench ? Stevens should have tapped Cote to go out after Bieksa as soon as Gags got off the ice.

With Briere, Gags, Lupul, Giroux, Asham out and Hartnell playing with a bad toe do we need Richie getting injured in a fight on top of it ?

I said when Hartnell got jumped by Godard that Stevens needs to address this. Send someone after Sid or one of the Sedin twins. Old time hockey, an eye for an eye. I'm sure Berube has given Stevens his thoughts on this a few times.

it was a 4-4 game late in the 3rd period, they wasnt gonna be undisciplined and cost them the game, if it was earlier perry would have got his head taken off. And if u think that elbow only deserved 4 min and no suspension well then your the biggest douche on this board. He rared back with his elbow and elbowed claude giroux on purpose, hes a dumb piece of ****.

Probably because it was called a highstick so they probably didnt see how f**king cheap it was until they reviewed the film...

theres no way you can justify that hit, seriously whats wrong with your brain. It was a blatant and late elbow...completely cheap.

It was dirty and cheap but not that cheap. Relax. He threw a bo that caught Giroux just right. But it wasn't like a swing to the face w/ his stick or a blindsided punch and then jumping. It's hockey. I'm pretty sure perry will be dealt with the next time they meet whether its the finals or next season.
BTW, per Flyersrule's injury update int he flyers section of the message board, Giroux out INDEFINATELY.
