Columbus Blue Jackets have placed center
Sergei Fedorov on Injured Reserve retroactive to January 6 and added forward Joakim Lindstrom to the roster on emergency recall from the
Syracuse Crunch, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, club President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced today. Lindstrom is expected to be in the lineup for tonight's game against Nashville.
Fedorov, who suffered an elbow injury in last Saturday's game at San Jose, has missed Columbus' last two games and is listed as day-to-day. He has tallied 13 goals and 15 assists for 28 points with 26 penalty minutes in 36 games this season. He is tied for the club lead in goals and ranks third in points, while adding six power play, two shorthanded and two game-winning goals. In 1,091 career NHL games, Fedorov has registered 456-635-1,091.
Lindstrom, 23, has collected 1-0-1 with an even plus/minus rating in four games with the Blue Jackets this season, scoring his first career NHL goal at Minnesota on December 29. Columbus' second pick, 41st overall, in the 2002 Entry Draft, he made his NHL debut with the Blue Jackets last season and was scoreless in three games. The Skelleftea, Sweden native has also tallied 6-8-14 and six penalty minutes in 18 games with Syracuse this season and in 95 career AHL games, he has registered 24-41-65 and 58 penalty minutes.
