Columbus Assigns Maksim Mayorov to Syracuse

COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned forward Maksim Mayorov to the Syracuse Crunch, Columbus' American Hockey League affiliate, club General Manager Scott Howson announced today.

Mayorov, 19, made his NHL debut with the Blue Jackets at St. Louis on January 3 and was scoreless in three games with the club. He has registered seven goals and nine assists for 16 points with 20 penalty minutes in 33 games with the Crunch this season. When he was recalled by Columbus on January 3, he was tied for third on the club in goals, points and power play goals.

Columbus' fifth pick, 94th overall, in the 2007 Entry Draft, he collected 1-0-1 with 16 penalty minutes in 11 games with Ak Bars Kazan of the Russian Elite League last season. He tallied 7-5-12 and six penalty minutes in 33 games with Leninogorsk and Almetievsk of the Russia-2 League in 2006-07. He was the No. 4 rated European skater in the final 2007 Central Scouting rankings.
