Colton Orr - Not good

It was said on the fan590 - Gord Stellick "there's concern within the organization for Colton Orr's quality of life at this point, not even worrying about returning to the ice."

Does Orr have a history of substance abuse?
Why do you ask? I would think he would've been referring to Colt's concussion issues. No? Either way, thats a shame to hear. Colton's a guy that most of us can agree is a super entertaining fighter to watch. It would be a shame if this was the end for him.

I only ask because I wasnt aware. Has he had multiple concussions before this one? I guess the "quility of life" comment threw a wrench in there and I had misconstrude the concussion issues.

Does Orr have a history of substance abuse? Or is this strictly concussion related.
My guess is they were talking about concussions and the history of head injuries that affect players later in life...Or were they referring to the direct affects of his last fight....

Bad concussions can definitely affect your quality of life. Headaches, dizziness, mood changes...it affects everything you do. I've had a few and after my last one I couldn't even lift things or exert myself without getting dizzy and nauseous. When you can't do the things you do normally everyday it's a huge deal.

Good luck to him. I haven't seen a man get hit in the face that hard since the ScottRasner took that dick to the mouth last week.

I wonder if he suffered a minor concussion in the Shelley fight and didn't even know it.

Seems strange though as the Parros TKO fight wasn't nearly the worst punch Orr has taken (although I may be underestimating the end of the fight where Parros falls on top of Orr).

I hope he gets better. Love him or hate him, that guy is probably the most exciting heavyweight fighter out there.

Sad news. Hopefully he takes the rest of the season off and comes back strong next year. Nothing worse than coming back too early from a severe concussion.

The Leafs have been saying all along that it was his head hitting the ice that did the damage. It's tough to say for sure though.

Wow. Didn't expect this, I don't want to have to retire my jersey this early.

Hopefully he's alright.
