Colton Orr Injured...

Good news in a way, knee injury, not head troubles...

TORONTO - Colton Orr will miss one to two months of action with the Toronto Marlies after suffering a sprained MCL last week.

Toronto coach Dallas Eakins lamented the injury, as he had hoped to find some unique tasks for the big winger, who doesn’t fit the typical farm team prospect profile with his 30th birthday around the corner. The trend away from fighting this season led to Orr spending much of his time in the press box before going on waivers.

“He came down with a good attitude and it was sad to see him get hurt (in his third game),” Eakins said. “He was a little winded in his first game, but I played him, because I thought I’d be able to find a really good role for him. We were toying around with throwing him in front of the net on the power play, give him some life.”

Eakins has also been trying to get some quality ice time for Philippe Dupuis, who was sent down after losing his fourth-line winger’s job.

Enforcers shelf time is shorter than most players, I think Orrs is on the final stretch sadly. 7 years in the NHL is damn good for an enforcer. Hopefully it gets together and Orr proves me wrong.

I just realized that this injury possibly cost us all seeing Colton Orr in the OutDoor game in Hamilton!

Imagine that, Orr scrapping at IvorWynn Stadium? That would have been a special fight on the resume!....

Damn shame...

WTF, my favorite fighter. not sure if he is signed with the Leafs next year, if he is not he will be a tryout for one last chance. If not, he is a Millionaire on the bright side.
