The
Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that forward
Matt Duchene will be out indefinitely due to a hand injury suffered on Monday against the
Calgary Flames.
Duchene, 20, is the Avalanche’s leading scorer with 47 points (21g/26a) in 57 games. He also leads the club in goals and shots (141). The Haliburton, Ontario native was selected to his first NHL All-Star Game this past January, where he scored a goal and also attempted the first penalty shot in All-Star Game history.
The Avalanche enters tonight’s contest against Pittsburgh having lost 280 man-games due to injury, third most in the league.
