Carolina recalls Brandon Sutter from Albany

RALEIGH, NC-Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled center Brandon Sutter from Albany of the American Hockey League (AHL) and placed forward Erik Cole on injured reserve.

Sutter, 20, has notched one goal and three assists (4 points) in seven games with Albany this season. The Hurricanes' first-round selection in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Sutter made his NHL debut in 2008-09, totaling one goal and five assists (6 points) in 50 games for Carolina. He has tallied 18 points (6g, 12a) in 36 career AHL games with the River Rats, and this marks his first NHL recall of the 2009-10 season.
