And I do like butter but I prefer margarine. And we all know that butter at room temperature in softer than margarine at room temperature. Regardless, he's no longer in Detroit

I don't mind this signing at all - he'll bring some depth and experience to a roster lacking in both, and after missing out on the likes of Havlat and Gaborik, we had to make a splash somewhere, especially if Sundin's not going to come back. Regardless, if he can score close to 20 goals again, I'll be a happy camper.

Just adds to a stellar supporting cast in Vancouver. Good deal for the Nucks with a cap hit of only 2 mil...that a steal. And Samuelsson always did well against us in the playoffs so that bodes well.

He had 257 shots last season which was third on the team but had a .074 shooting % which was last among forwards besides Kopecky.
Put those numbers on the Canucks last season and he'd be second in team shots by about 80 over 3rd and dead last in forwards shooting %.

So who is next to leave Detroit? Any chance they keep Fillpulia? Hudler?

But your right anyone can join in on a scrum with 4 zebras around...yet if I had a nickle for how many times I have seen Rafalski & Filpula stay on the outside of a scrum in front of the net I'd have a good size boat for this summer. Your blinded by your love for the Wings. Losing Samuelsson makes this team weaker then it was last year if they aren't signing a physical presence. I'm extremely happy because this opens up cap space to maybe sign a tough guy for less then a million like Brad May or Travis Moen but at the same time all this does is leave the 2 million on the table for Holland to sign Hudler. The Wings roster will probably be: zetterberg - datsyuk - franzen filppula - cleary - hudler helm - holmstrom - leino draper - maltby - abdelkader Do you really think that is at all tougher? The team got smaller with every guy they lost. 3 forwards lost and they were all 6 foot or above that play a physical game. This team is ****ed sorry to break it to you. The cap this year has screwed the Wings. They will be out in the first 2 rounds of the playoffs and again won't win the presidents trophy with this lineup. They need Brad May but won't be able to afford him. Last edited by SnowballIsChamp; 07-03-2009 at 01:56 PM. |

They are keeping Hudler most likely for around 2 million. Filppula is already signed until 2013.

Not one single Samuelsson hit did anything to any player or get one single fan out of their seat, or made one highlight.
