Canucks Sign Chris Higgins to Four-Year Contract Extension

Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks President & General Manager Michael D. Gillis announced today that the Canucks have re-signed left wing Chris Higgins to a four-year deal.

Higgins, 29, has registered 14 points (9-5-14) and 10 penalty minutes in 35 games with the Canucks this season. In 120 games with Vancouver, the Smithtown, NY, native has collected 62 points (29-33-62) and 32 penalty minutes.

Higgins has appeared in 517 career games, recording 253 points (132-121-253) over the span of nine NHL seasons with the Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, Calgary Flames, Florida Panthers and Canucks.

The 60, 193 pound left winger was originally selected 14th overall in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft by the Montreal Canadiens.
