Nothing official about Luongo yet, but apparantly he bruised a couple ribs after stopping a hard shot against the Wild last Sunday - some Wild and Canucks might remember Luongo staying down on the ice for a bit after taking a shot in the midsection. The pain has become steadiy worse since then; he was scheduled to start last night in LA but pulled himself out of the game during warmups, and Sanford got the start. Calling up MacIntyre is probably just a little insurance, but hopefully Louie just needs a few more nights off.
Cowan seperated his shoulder against the Penguins on Saturday, and Isbister suffered a lower body injury early against the Kings last night as well, hence the other players. When Cowan went down I was hoping to see Rypien get called up to replace him, but Mike Brown is still up and I think the Canucks are looking for a little boost offensively - maybe Raymond or Jaffray can help a little there.

I believe he took an Aaron Voros shot, but I thought they said - and replay showed - that the shot was taken off the collarbone?
Unless I'm remembering incorrectly. |

On a related note, Brendan Morrison flew back to Vanouver today so a doctor could look at his wrist, which he apparantly hurt last night as well. There's a good chance he'll miss tomorrows game in Anahiem. If thats the case, Morrsion's current iron man streak of 500+ games, which leads all active players, will come to an end. Kind of weird if that were to happen - Raffi Torres of the Oilers has his ironman streak of over 200 games ended a few nights ago when he was a healthy scratch.
