Canucks Recall Nathan McIver

Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that defenceman Nathan McIver has been recalled from the Manitoba Moose of the AHL.

McIver, 23, has split the 2007-08 season between the Manitoba Moose and Vancouver Canucks. He recorded 36 penalty minutes in 11 games with the Canucks and six points (3-3-6) and 83 penalty minutes in 39 games with the Moose.

McIver, made his NHL debut during the 2006-07 season, playing one game with the Canucks. The 6-foot-2, 205 lbs. native of Summerside, Prince Edward Island played 63 games with the Moose last season, recording 139 penalty minutes.

McIver was originally drafted by Vancouver 254th overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

AGAIN? I hope he gets to play this time, mabye he will get to stay up for the game against the Oilers.

Me too!

But by all indications, Linden, Rypien, and Cowan will remain in the lineup tonight too. McIver could be slotted to take Bourdon's place.

But Mitchell got hit in the mouth with a puck on Saturday night - I know he had some dental work done yesterday, so McIver could be a callup in case Mitchell isn't good to go. I highly doubt that, but McIver could be up just as an insurance policy.

Geeezzzz, I'm starting to feel sorry for him!!! Keep him up he adds some toughness to the team and I like the guy. Goes down for a few days, comes up for a few, down and up, up and down, keep him in one spot!
