Canucks Recall Grenier…..Assign King and Obsut

Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks President and General Manager Brian Burke announced today that the Canucks have recalled defenceman Martin Grenier and assigned Jason King and Jaroslav Obsut to the Manitoba Moose of the AHL.
Grenier, 24, has played in 28 games with Manitoba this season, recording seven points (4-3-7) and 109 penalty minutes. The 6’5”, 245 pound native of Laval, Quebec was acquired by trade with Phoenix in exchange for Bryan Helmer, July 25, 2003.
King, 22, has played 44 games with Vancouver, notching 19 points (11-8-19) and eight penalty minutes. The 6’1”, 195 pound native of Cornerbrook, Newfoundland was Vancouver’s fifth choice, 212th overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
Obsut, 28, was recalled by the Canucks on January 26, 2004 and has played 44 games with the Moose, recording 25 points (8-17-25) and 38 penalty minutes. Obsut is ranked 3rd overall in team scoring for the Moose and first among Manitoba defencemen. The 6’1”, 200 pound Czech native, was signed as a free agent, July 9, 2002.
