Canucks lose Salo, Pyatt and Rypien

Quote:
VANCOUVER (AP) - Canucks forward Taylor Pyatt will be out two to four weeks with a shoulder injury and defenceman Sami Salo could miss seven-to-10 days with a nerve injury in his shoulder.

Fourth-line forward Rick Rypien will also miss six to eight weeks with a partially torn groin muscle.

More here:

As if things couldn't get any worse in Vancouver.

God forbid Sami Salo stay healthy for one whole season. Come to think of it, Rypien too.

I dont feel any sympathy for the Canucks. The stars have lost 7 players including, Morrow, Modano, Sydor, Daley and Ott. Hopefully we get Sydor and Daley back for tonight, but we've been playing with rookie talent for awhile and winning so the Canucks and fans can suck it up like everyone else.

What are you talking about? I think you're exaggerating a little here...I have Modano in two pools and he's been healthy all year - he's only listed as day to day right now with a knee sprain...Sydor has missed all of 1 game. Ott's not counted on for any offense. Besides, at least the Stars are capable of scoring more than 3 goals on any given night...the Canucks can barely score 1, and thats with a full and healthy lineup.

Losing two guys like Salo and Pyatt put the Canucks behind an even bigger eight ball, its a huge blow for a team dead last in offense. Luongo will quite literally have to play shutout hockey for the next month just to give Vancouver a chance to win in any upcoming games.

That's a real bad turn of events for Vancouver.

Your also not counting:
1. Morrow 8G - 8A - 16P who's missed 6 games now I believe and will miss tonight supposedly.
2. Lindross 5G - 13A - 18P has missed 1 so far and will miss tonight.
3.Sydor your right on he's probable for tonight.
4. Miettnen 6G - 4A - 10P has missed 2 now and will probably miss tonight.
5. Daley - 1G - 4A - 5P has missed 5 games and is more noted for his defensive aspects probable for tonight.
6. Lehtinen who missed 4 games and is back now.
7. Ott 4 points in 11 games so he was producing a little and it's his grit that is missed and has now missed 16 games.
8. Finally Modano who will miss tonight and as you say is day to day.

Now how is that exaggerating exactly especially when your calling younger guys with little to no NHL experience to replace even if for 1-2 games that offense? All I was saying is no team is going to give them sympathy over losing Pyatt and Salo.

1 more thing I forgott to add with 6 players out of the line up against San Jose the other night we didn't score 3 we scored 1. Guess who that 1 goal was Modano who is out and has been struggling with the knee injury over the last 2 games. Turco won that game and I don't suspect we will do to good with the big 3 out of our lineup here in the future.

So its just like back in Florida for him eh?

Injury bug is sweeping the Northwest Division. Minnesota is down many guys, Edmonton is down a few guys and now the 'Nucks get hit as well.

I wonder if the 'Nucks would give Brown a shot at this point...

I see what you're saying, but aside from Morrow and Ott, there's not a lot of guys missing significant time here. Most are listed as day to day...these Canucks could be out for as long as a month each, in Rypiens case even longer. I still think the Stars have enough talent to spread the offensive responsibilites....not so much in Vancouver, Salo's presence will be especially missed. I'm not asking for sympathy here, but the Star's present situation isn't near as bad as the Canucks right now...at least those injured Dallas players should be back within days, not weeks, or months....
