I love this move. Gives Vancouver a solid #6 defenseman and one of the more entertaining fighters in the league. Really happy to see him sign somewhere.

Couple more teams to go and he'll complete the NW Division tour of teams.

Yeah, I never got why players like Vandy and Asham, both solid middle/LHWs with some playing ability could never seem to find a 'home' to stay with.

Nothing against Vandermeer because I like gritty guys, but he'll be lucky to make the team full time. There's a reason he's moved around so much.

Happy for Vandy.
He was an honest player for the Hawks, who always showed up for his mates. He will bring needed toughness to the Canucks. Like OBZ said, still like him, but hard to root for him now.

I love Vandy in Edmonton... would rather have seem him as our 7th D, and quite frankly it stings a bit he's in Vancouver...

![]() I like Vandermeer but something tells me we will see the same Vandermeer we saw in Phoenix. The one with no interest in physicality or fighting. Largely due to coaching philosophies, IMO but nonetheless disappointing. I hope I'm wrong though. |
