Vancouver is full of pest's... Now they go out and claim a guy who can get under any teams skin and has some size to boot.. As much as I hate the Canucks they are gonna be something to watch with him in the lineup mixing things up!

Should make the Chicago-Vancouver games a bit more fistacular. Hope Sestito is more active out West, we cannot blame Vagiolette for handcuffing him anymore if he is not.

I'm glad he got picked up. Hopefully Vancouver gives him ice time and lets him improve his major league game. His stats in the AHL show he knows how to play, as does his brief stint with the Flyers.

This is really disappointing, though. I'd love to know what exactly Knuble, Fedotenko, and Harry Z do that much better than Sestito.

Blackhawks put in a claim for Tom Sestito. Likely why the Canucks snagged him.

Canucks would not have known that the Hawks put in a claim on him...it's done between the specific team and the league privately...the release of teams who put claims in, come out after the fact via media.

Nothing, but those three are Lavy's pets. Sestito signed his way out of Philly by scoring the only two goals in a 2-1 win against Tampa Bay, it made Lavy look like a moron. He can't stand to have a tough guy scoring goals.

Good luck to Sestito, hope he plays and is a good pick up by Vanc.

Wow I haven't had much time this week to be on here. I must have missed the thread about Shelley's injury. Is it unheard of for a HW to go on fake IR?. I don't post on here much because this site is full of F*#king A$$holes, it's really unbelievable....we all like the same thing on here...why can't people just be cool, thanks a lot for reassuring this. I really only go on here to play guess the fight because of this. Would I have won guess the fight 3 years in a row if I was knew to sports, your just grumpy because your team expects Simmonds and Rinaldo to do all the dirty work...good luck with that.

Id take Volpatti over sestito any day, at least that got someone scrappy. Flyers will likely sign a heavy.

I am sure Lavy does not like having "tough" guys score goals. Rinaldo should be sitting soon.

So with Sestito gone does that make Simmonds the toughest Flyer obviously not including Shelley who is on the IR?

No, no. Volpatti was awesome but Mike Gillis loves to make stupid moves, (there was even a little trade interest for Vopatti rumour has it, though we're talking 7th round picks) Volpatti was never going to clear, it was stupid move, as was Philly putting Sestito on waivers. This doesn't solve the toughness problem with McGrattan, Bordeleau, Rupp...kinda, Reaves...kinda and Bollig...kinda but more than Reaves in the conference. That's 2 superheavyweights and 3 LHW's (2 of whom spot-pick, I haven't really seen Bollig do that at least yet).

...but Sestito adds size and should keep Vancouver's fighting majors in the top 4.
